How do you explain the clutch slippage?>>
Is it possible that the clutch disk got some oil on it? Guaranteed to
cause
a problem.

Possible. Regardless of whether the problem is broken taper pin or oil on
the disk or failed pressure plate the transmission will have to come out
for positive ID and rectification. However, before going to that extreme
be sure to exhaust the easy things first. Is the hydraulic system working
properly. Is the crankarm on the pilot shaft working right. Etc. Etc.
Etc. Don't you just hate it when you pull a transmission (or engine, or
something else difficult) just to find out that the problem was a simple
fix? Check the easy stuff first.
