You may remember my previous post on this subject. I was grateful for the
suggestions received - and have now cured the problem as follows.
The car was fitted with a Bosch pump under the left rear wheel arch with a
suspect hose to the PRV attached with worm clips. The pump leaked slightly.
This has been replaced with a (very reasonably priced) kit from Prestige
Developments consisting of a bigger bore feed pipe from the tank, glass
pre-filter, Bosch pump, high pressure filter, mounting bracket and 'proper'
hoses/unions. The pump and high pressure filter is fitted in the LH front
corner of the spare wheel well. The owner of Prestige, Malcolm Jones, was
most helpful.
So far, no more fuel smell.
