Roger,

If you remove the rubber hose from the input pipe on the TR4 fuel pump you 
should get a steady stream of gas onto the floor... like you turned on a 
faucet.  

Ask me how I know.... This stream can be very awkward to deal with in a cold 
garage in Winter. During my rebuild I installed one of those plastic fuel 
valves that are used on large lawn tractor engines in the rubber fuel line 
section that feeds the pump.

If you don't get this good volume of gravity gas flow... there is an 
obstruction somewhere in the lines or at the bottom of the tank.  Many cars I 
looked at while searching for a car had badly rusted gas tanks that consistly 
clogged any filter in the gas line or the sediment bowl.
