Actually, there were 6 different wheel cylinders used on TR2-6 (2 Lockheed,
4 Girling). Substitutes appear to be available for 4 of them, the other
two have to be replaced in pairs.
To my mind, price isn't nearly as much an issue as labor (although paying
$95 instead of $10 isn't something I do gladly). If the leak is caught
early, I can throw in a repair kit in under an hour, while replacing both
cylinders is at least a day's work, not counting all the time spent running
from store to store on Sunday afternoon looking for a replacement hard line

The difference is an extra day spent driving my Triumph !
