I'm wondering if the cooling water passages were dead ended above and below
the crank hole.
If that is the case, the rad would loose three or four of the 20 rows it
had. (15% +/-) For a marginal cooling system ( as it is) this would surely
push some into the Steam zone. A few years ago I had my local Radiator shop
make up a nice triple width crossflow radiator for about $250. Best money I
ever spent. ( Uh Oh- I think the Authenticity police are knockin' at the
door...)
While I do miss out on the Crank-start competitions, I've got some plans
for a kick start conversion kit with this pedal on the passenger side......

Somewhere mid TR4 the crank hole disappeared. There is a common conception
that a "hole-less" radiator will help the cooling problems of the TR2-4
range - however, IMHO if the car is tuned and setup properly, you won't have
cooling problems. Or another way of saying it, if you have cooling problems
the lack of a hole won't do that much good - for very long. Something else
is causing the problem. I can't think when I ever used my crank, but it
is a conversation starter at the "cruise-in'' shows.
$250? Unreal!

I saw the following and wondered, how would this fit in a '2 or a '3 there
is no crank access hole through the middle? Or am I crazy? Did the '4 have
a crank, I haven't seen a picture where it shows one.
Triumph Radiator fits TR2 TR3 TR4
