That statement makes no sense at all! When the throttle plates are closed (or partially closed) there will be enough pressure drop to work the vacuum advance. At any rate, Kas Kastner (who raced TR6's during the 70's and wrote a special tuning manual for British Leyland) did all his work with the stock Lucas distributor. There is a Mallory dual point distributor available form the usual parts houses if you like to spend the extra money. Dave Massey 71 TR6 |
