IMHO, they are all beautiful. We'll never see them again.
While my first love is probably self-evident (and with some
justification?) I have just as much affection for 3000's,
MGA's (especially twin-cams), B's, - yes, even the C. They
all had weak and strong points. They probably all leak and
they can be infuriating.
Over the last few weeks, I've been working closely with Ann
and Peter Hunt on this side of the pond in a PR capacity on
the preparation of their ex-Florida 3000 Mk 2 for the Around
the World in 80 Days trip next year. Only today, I was
preparing a thumbnail outline techwise on the 3000 for the
display we're running for the car at HMC and it made me
marvel. I can still hear them, SU's hissing away, that
beautiful growl, skittish back end and 116mph top speed.
It's so sad the injected TR6 never had more of a head-on
face to face against the 3000.
