Listers,
As previously posted, I could not get one of the carbs on my TR3B to
provide an adequate mixture using the colortune system. I would like
to thank all of those who responded to my dilemma It seems as though a
carburetor rebuild is first up on the winter project list.
Before undergoing the rebuild however, suggestions included adjusting
the float and timing. The Haynes manual seems to indicate that the
float adjustment procedure is quite simple, however, I have the timing
description is beyond me. I have used a timing light and chalk
markings in other cars in the past while turning the distributor, but
this does not appear to be the case here.
Can anyone provide a "Tuning For Dummies" guide here??
Also, in anticipation of the rebuild, since I have never done this
before, is there a source which describes step-by-step approaches? Do
the rebuild kits come with instructions? The Moss catalog had listed
a rebuild kit, and a super master rebuild kit ($40 more), which is
appropriate?
Words of wisdom are greatly appreciated.
