If you have a Haynes manual, on page 221 (fig. 12.17) there is a drawing
of a tool you can easily make for installing the spring clips .
In case you don't have access to the manual I'll attempt a description:
Start with a piece of 16 gauge (or close) metal strip 12" long and 3/4"
wide. Bend one end up an 1/8" to form a small *V*. Take about 2" on the
other end to form a loop for your finger to slip into. The clip fits
into the *V* and you lower the tool and clip into the window glass
opening of the door and pull up, so that the lip on the door slips into
the clip. Push the weatherstrip into the clips in turn while holding
them with the tool. It's a pain even with the tool, but much, much
easier than without.
