Ed, you have the same problem as I have, you are getting old and don't
believe in the sales hype for trickle chargers and such.
I've been doing the same as you for many years and never had any problem.
First point to consider in any car, is having a good battery. A trickle
charger will do no good if one has a bad battery.
I tend to stick with an old shooting phrase "KISS = Keep It Simple, Stupid".
