Jim,

When I was a newbie to the Triumph cars (about ten years ago) I tried to
static time the "6" and got the timing so far out of wack that it would
actually start easy the first time when it was cold, but usually wouldn't
start a second time until it cooled off. Actually thought that I would have
to invest in a new starter until one day I had the car in for inspection and
was talking to my mechanic who set the timing correctly and haven't had a
problem since.
