I don't know that this helps, but IMO restoring any car is a poor
monetary investment.
If you are very lucky, you may get back the money you spent, but you
will never get paid a decent amount for the work you've done.
Classic car prices seem to be going through a low point at the moment,
much below what they were 5-10 years ago. IMO because many people have
realized that they aren't good investments, even if you 'buy cheap and
sell dear'. There have been some fabulous collections sold off, and Jay
Leno just isn't buying them up fast enough <g>
However, the rewards, although intangible, are worth it. Restoring it
yourself makes it a "one of a kind", at least to you. I find immense
satisfaction in knowing exactly how it works, and how to repair it. Not
to mention the feeling you get when you fix something and it works !
So, my advice is : Be honest, do it for love, not for money.
