Ken, not sure exactly what metal strip you're talking about, but if it means
anything, when I open my glove box door, I can see both sides of the hinge.
The side attached to the dashboard rests on the vinyl and screwed down into
the metal of the dash. Don't see any "metal strip". Not sure this helps, but
it's what mine does.

Well, it's 9:15 AM and I'm sitting by the phone. As soon as Brad Kahler and
Bud Rolofson call from the rest stop where they're meeting Andy Mace, I'm
out the door to meet them at yet another rest stop on the Massachusetts
Turnpike...and we're off to VTR!!! Should be there by 1PM or so. Sorry you
can't join us, but we'll try to enjoy enough for all!
