Jack, I have to agree with Pete Chadwell that the ignition system would
be the first place to look, but if that doesn't reveal the problem, you
may want to double check the float level setting. I've seen references
that suggest that the float level is really a course adjustment of the
mixture, when it's too low it can be difficult or impossible to get the
mixture rich enough.
