Well, after 5 years of work, many set backs and compromises, I am
declaring my 1966 TR4A done. I've got a few things to redo...like an oil
leak at the fuel pump, and the heater motor decided to stop working, and
I forgot to move the metal cam for the turn signal cancel when I
adjusted the steering column out, BUT, the car is on the road again.
I took it out for a 25 mile round trip on Sunday. After an hour of
cleanup in the morning, the clouds started to thin in the Seattle skies,
and down the road we went. Smooth and quite, though some disc brake
noise as the pads break in, and little less power than I remember from
my same model car I owned while in college in the late sixties. The BRG
paint sparkled against the tan interior, and all that new chrome caught
the eyes of passing motorist. At the restaurant I got a table where we
could see the car, and watch several groups of onlookers form to stare
at an object from the past. Later in the morning I parked the 4A next to
my powder blue '61 MGA in the driveway. That actually cause several
passerby's to stop and talk about british cars. Now, if I could get that
'58 Jaguar that's in boxes in my garage back together, wouldn't that
make a nice driveway car show. Jerry Oliver., Olympia, WA. '66 TR4A
