There is a breather hole at the bottom of the bell housing where it meets
the engine. It is possible for either engine oil or tranny fluid to leak
from there. It would be engine oil if the rear oil seal of the engine is
leaking, tranny fluid if the front seal of the tranny is leaking. I just
replaced the seals on the tranny because of the leakage from that hole.

Subject: Tranny Oil Leak
Hi Folks,
I was changing the oil in my TR6 last night (using only a flash
light &*#@&^), and noticed oil sprayed on the frame. Upon a bit more
investigation it looked like it was coming from where the engine and tranny
meet, the tranny was also covered. I'll have to have another look to make
sure that that is where the oil originates, but before I do, I thought I'd
ask if this was a "common" problem and if there are any ways/tricks to
better diagnose this problem.
Thanks,
Ian
