Does the pedal get firmer with pumping? If so, you still have air in the
system.
You can bleed each fitting (working from the master towards the brakes)
by having the system pressurized (by a foot, probably not yours...), and
undo each fitting in turn so that fluid comes out. It's a good idea to
wrap a rag around the fitting so it doesn't wreck your paint.
It's hard to lock up the TR4 too, but it also stops *real fast* with those
big semi-metallic pads & discs.
You might have a stuck caliper piston too- were the calipers rebuilt ever?
Are the calipers installed correctly (bleeder facing up)? They might be
backwards (bleeder facing down)- to fix, swap left and right calipers.
Did you replace the flex hoses? Might want to feel them with someone
pushing the pedal, if they swell, toss 'em.
