Question for the list:
My 76 TR6 throttle has a setup that I have not seen in any of the shop
manuals or parts catalogs. The setup is as follows:
The support bracket assembly (mounted to the two carbs, ZS 175 CDs) has a
bracket the has a 'U' shaped slot. The Adjustable control rod (between the
pedal shaft and the bell crank) passes through this bracket. There is a
spring on the control rod that is between the point where the control rod
mounts to the bell crank and the 'U' shaped slot. It seems to be a return
spring, but it does not appear to be strong enough to fully return the
accelerator pedal to a neutral position. Is this something that was
standard with the 76 model or a change made by a DPO? Planning to buy a new
return spring (part of the TRF sale catalog). Wanted to be sure that the
current setup was not standard before I make changes.
