As part of my TR250 repairs and what I expected to be an 800-mile drive to
Chicago, I figured replacing the seat diaphragms would be key to being able
to walk at the end of the trip. I didn't want to reupholster the whole
seat, so I needed a way to install the diaphragms without complete
disassembly.
My son and I struggled mightly for about twenty minutes to get the first
half of the hooks for one seat attached. I thought, "There has to be a
better way." I found that by cutting a small notch in the tip of a sturdy
screwdriver, I could catch the hook with the notch, then just push it (and
stretch the diaphragm) to engage the hook in the hole. Took about three
minutes to finish the first seat.
The tip of the screwdriver now looks like
.--v--.

though the notch looks more like a semicircle than a "v". Worked like a
charm.
