Guys
This is a preliminary announcement on behalf of the Triumph 2000 2500 2.5
Register. As announced at Gaydon yesterday and in advance of a very imminent
Press Release, May 5-6, 2000 will see a Run taking place in England. It will
be of 870 miles in length on public roads over a 24 hour period and is for
Charity. It is NOT a race and it is not a Rally. The objective is to obtain
sufficient sponsorship to provide one fully trained guide dog for a
Registered Blind person who could not normally afford such an animal. It
costs GBP 25000 to breed and train one dog.
The Register is organising this event and will be inviting members of all UK
Standard and Triumph Clubs to participate. This does not mean the event is
restricted to UK nationals. It's wide open to any Triumph owner who might
just happen to be in England over that weekend. This means it can include
all Triumphs of European Clubs and all those in North America too. This
event will take place during the weekend next year when The Heritage Motor
Centre have arranged to hold the next "STANDARD TRIUMPH MARQUE DAY" and the
Run (to be called The Twelve Cathedrals) will start and finish.
Come on all you guys in North America! Ship it over and join in the fun.
If any lister would like further details, please contact me off list. A
website will be launched very soon.
Regards
Jonmac
