before you push the shock down and turn to adjust.......I think you have to
take a rubber spacer out from under the top shock cover thingy.........(hope
i am right)............maybe someone could correct if not

Hello all Koni users,
Find here the adjustment instructions for Konis
If adjustment of the damping force is desired or necessary, this can
be done as follows:
remove the shock absorber from the car and hold it vertically with
the lower eye or pin attachment in a vice. Use clamp plates to
prevent damage.
ATTENTION: If there is an identation in the dust cap and the cover
shows 2 holes the shock absorber is fitted with a bump-rubber. If
so fully extend the shock absorber and insert a thin round bar (or a
thick wire) or srew driver through the holes. Push the bump-rubber
down and remove it. Also remove the split plastic collar (if fitted)
from the piston rod.
Fully close the shock absorber at the same time turning the dust
cap or piston rod slowly to the LEFT (ani-clockwise) until it is felt
that the cams of the adjusting nut engage in the recesses of the
foot valve-assembly.
The damper may have been already adjusted. Therefore check
whether the shock absorber is in the unadjusted position or not,
by keeping it closed and gently turning further to the left counting
at the same time the half turns until a stop is felt. Stop turning now
and do not use force.
Keeping the shock absorber closed make 2 half turns (360deg) to
the right (clockwise) This is a more or less standard setting. The
total range is about 5 HALF TURNS.
Pull the shock absorber out vertically WITHOUT TURNING for at
least 1/2 inch to disengage the adjusting mechanism. The dust cap
or piston rod may now be turned freely.
ATTENTION: Where a bump-rubber was installed, refit it inside the
dust cap and by fully closing the shock obsorber, the rubber will
seat again at the top of the dust cap. Refit the slit plastic collar.
The shock absorber can now be refitted.
N.B. Adjustment must always be carried out in pairs, thus 2 front
and/or 2 rear dampers. This for the same amount of turns.

For info: On my TR6 I set the Konis at 2 1/2 halfturns for normal
road use with harder springs. Adjusting all 4 wheels takes about 2
hours max.
If needed I can scan and send the drawings in the instruction.
