You have to remove the bracket at the very top of the steering column before
it disappears into the firewall. Then undo the bottom bolt at the rack and
it'll slide back and off the splined head sticking out of the rack. Align
the wheel for the turn signal cancel, align the top bracket you removed
first to line the flat spots back up, and replace the bottom of the shaft.
You'll probably have to pull the steering wheel and recenter it.

Subject: TR 6 steering column
To all:
When my TR6 was reassembled, the cam that activates the trun signal
cancellation was improperly positioned. What is the simplest way to fix
this? It looks like the universal joint assembly at the end of the lower
steering column is splined. Can this be loosened enough to turn the column
without having to remove the column? It also appears that the upper
steering column is also splined. Would this one be easier to adjust (seems
to be more room)?
Also, I had sent mail last night from home (around 2130 CDT) about how the
PDWA is wired but have not gotten a copy here at work. Does anyone recall
seeing it?
