I recently imparted a story about how a fellow club member's hose chafed and
wore through against the steering column in his TR6, with the hose blowing
at 3k rpm on the highway. At that rate the oil was pumped out so fast, even
with the car convulsing and his spying the '0' oil pressure, he could not
shut down in time to save the engine! I would think the consideration should
be (1) braided metal hoses vs rubber, and (2) if not actually driving the
car hard or in really hot climates, why worry about the oil cooler at all.
Other TR6's live a long life without them. Cheers, JD

Subject: TR-6 Oil Cooler Hose Question
I am installing an oil cooler/ spin on adapter on my '71. There
are
several hose routes I could use. Has anyone got any light to shed
on which
is the best? Kit came with a clamp...was thinking of putting clamp
on left
engine mount using existing hole.
