Greg,
I believe that I bought the 'stock' system. It was from VB, part #6-025 (or
something like that). All of the reports I've heard from others has been
positive about the system (noise and installation). I don't know if I have a
lemon or what. Don't know about back pressure, I assume it is a little less due
to a slightly larger diameter tubing. The system went in real easy, very
impressive. I just have the problem of excessive noise, particularly at
2000-2500 RPM. At 70 MPH, it pretty quiet; I have a stretch of road with speed
limits of 35 and 50, and my ears throb afterwards. Seems like a system
resonance, but I don't know how to get rid of it.
Bottom line; I think I am the exception based on all other input. I'd buy
another system, AFTER I figure out what I did wrong with this one!

I'm interested to read your experience with the Falcon SS system since I'm
considering changing my stock system out also. Is you SS system a "free
flow" system? I've noticed that there are both "stock" style systems and
"free flow" systems available in stainless. I've already been frightened
away from buying a Monza system after reading posts about the noise and
rusting. My problem is that I want to do the head mods and get a little more
horsepower but I don't want to go deaf driving on the highway. Is there a
happy medium? Does it improve back pressure to put a header on and keep the
muffler and pipes stock? Or am I better off just staying stock all the way
if I don't want to go deaf on a long highway trip? Regards, Greg Hutmacher
