"Keep it clean" - what he said. My ritual for cylinder bores is to use automatci transmission fluid and white paper towls (*NOT* shop rags, not blue paper towels - you want something with a hard finish that won't lint). Dampen the towel with ATF, wipe the bore. If it comes up dirty, throw away the towl and repeat. This makes it very obvious when the bore is clean enough, and oils it down, to boot. |
