Well listers, I've finally reached a point where I'm putting things back
ONTO the car rather than taking them off!
So far I've got the front upper valance welded into place. Went in nicely
which it should because it came from a TR4A. The lower valance came
from TRF via Tawain. My original impression of the valance when I
received it was favorable. However, after trying to install it my opinion has
definitely changed. The fit is marginal at best. It took a lot of tweeking
and
shoving to get it into position that is acceptable. I'm not 100% satisfied
with it but I don't think the deficiencies will noticeable when the car is
done.
Thanks to Justin Wagner pointing out that the lower valance has to be
installed with care taken to insure that the grille fits properly I won't have
to
go back and redo it. At the time it didn't even dawn on me that the grille
goes there also! Tunnel vision I guess.
After realizing that the grille has to fit properly I ended up tweeking and
straightening the some what bent grille that I have. But the fit seems to be
acceptable all the way around. (To me at least!). I probably have about a
half days worth of work to finish welding and tweeking.
Once thats all done its on the the inner sills and rocker panels. Fortunately
the inner sills seem to be of much better quality than the lower valance was.
Hopefully the rocker panels will be just as good when they arrive this week.
