Thanks for all the great advice on master cylinder rebuilds. Looks like
I'll just buy new master and slave cylinders ($200.00 "ouch!") and install
them and see if that's it. If it ain't, then I tear into the clutch and
pilot bearing. I'll fix this problem even if it sucks every dime out of my
pocket for the next 20 years! That Spit has got to stay on the road!
Now, about that vinyl versus cloth top debate going on: If you live in a
place with a lot of rainfall, vinyl has to be the best choice. If you live
in the desert, cloth would probably be better.
And about british racing green: British racing green is the color that
made you snap your head when a green british car went by. You thought to
yourself, "yeah, I want that color on my car" I saw a Jaguar with a dark
forest green that made me look twice. So, to me, that's british racing
green. I also seem to remember a green racer driven by Stirling Moss that
was particularly striking. But the green was brighter, like "Thunderbird 2"
(a reference to an obscure british puppet show I loved as a child).
Well, I think that's it, except to say that you guys and gals are all F.A.B.
