<<Last night I dismantled the temp gauge on my TR4. After removing the chrome bezel there appeared to be somekind of black sealant inside the bezel that had hardened and dryed out with age. My assumption is this stuff is to keep dust and moisture from entering the gauge from the front. >> Brad, FYI - that used to be a rubber seal - they can alter over the years into gooey tar or crackled chunks.
