Hi,
I had this same problem with Colorado Red a while back. People suggested
anything from Porsche red, to Snap On tool box red, but I wanted to make sure
I had the right red. So I went to my paint dealer who just happened to have
an old paint book of British car paint formulas. Unfortunately the formula
was for a laquer, but he suggested that I have him make a small batch in the
laquer, then he could color match it for any kind of paint I wanted. The
match is perfect, and I'm real happy.
Another thing you could do is find an original Triumph with the color you
like, and have your auto paint dealer match it. Either borrow a painted part
from the car, or have the owner of the car stop by the paint shop so it can be
matched.
The problem with BRG is that there are so many variations.
