I don't know about the Spit, but the TR4A tonneau has (had) a strap that
ran vertically from the centre of the zipper down to a lift the dot post
on the inside bottom of the passenger seat. This anchored the tonneau
and prevented excessive flapping. You may have an after market tonneau
lacking this feature. Look down at the seat base or the trans tunnel for
a post. If there's nothing there it wouldn't take much to add the strap
and an anchor. Set it up so there is slight tension on the tonneau when
the strap is attached.
