When the O/D switch is installed, the words "overdrive" face out toward 
the door, so the switch is down, if you turn it over, its up. I have 
found on my 3, I have a tendency to hit the switch up when turning to the 
right, but not to the left (down). Hope this is clear to you  "FT"
