Thanks to both Brian and Brad,
It appears I have H6's. I have the brass plunger tops, the right hand
float assembly, the large brass jet lever. It's a challenge working
on this rig because the young woman I bought it from had a dream
about putting it back together. After owning it for two years and
storing it in the rain, she had managed to put the front bumper on
upside down, then gave up. The PO to the person I bought it from
appears to have been a good mechanic though not a purist. He
collected lots of parts, got the shot motor out and stuck in the TR4A
motor, TR3 carbs and who knows what else (I guess I will find out as
I go along). I wish he had found an overdrive at some point.
As I put some miles on the 3 now, parts are having to individually
decide whether to spring back to life as we roll along or retire,
spew fluifs, or whatever. Have not been stranded yet, but it's been
close once. I am kind of looking forward to doing the carbs.
Everyone remind me about that later on when it won't start, or fouls
plugs every couple of blocks or whatever.
Cheers,
Geezer
