Frank,

I only have '71 models, so I'm going to extrapulate from them, and hope it's
right. It will be very easy to you check it though, so please let me know it
I'm right. Where the '76 diagram has the x'd circles, the '71 has a symbol
that looks sorta like this ] This symbol represents the plug from the rear
wiring harness to the main harness, located in the floor board close to the
firewall on the driver's side.

The hourglasses represent the contacts in the plug to the hazard switch, I
believe.

I have never seen a correct wiring diagram for the '76 around the area of the
starter relay. The '74 models had the starter relay interconnected with the
seat belt interlock, but this interlock was bypassed on the '75, and removed
from the '76. It looks as if the draftsman was instructed to modify the
diagram to reflect this, but got off on another project just after eliminating
the old wiring but before he had a chance to add in the new. If you do find
out what the correct wiring is, please let me know so I can correct my
diagrams.

I 'think' the starter contact on the ignition switch goes directly to the
solenoid, and there is an extra contact on the solenoid to bypass the ballast
resister for starting. I'm almost certain of the later, but the relay may
still be in the circuit for the starter contact. Hopefully, some one will read
this who knows, and will let us all know.
