I did exactly what you are doing about 5 years ago. It is without a doubt the
very best improvement that you can make to a TR6. I don't drive my car every
day, but I do go on quite a few long trips. This summer I went from Richmond,
VA to the VTR National Convention in Hudson, WI. 2,700 miles through 11 states
and Canada. I don't think I would have gone without an overdrive. It makes
that much difference.
I would have someone who knows Triumph transmissions rebuild your new tranny
BEFORE you install it, no matter what its condition. After sitting that long,
at the very least, the O-rings are most likely rotted away. A rebuild will
certainly give you years of trouble free use.
Good luck. If I can help let me know.

any thing I should look for before I but it?. It has been out of service
for about 4 years owner says it was great before the car rotted way
.
