I ordered what I thought I needed from Moss to refurbish my front suspension -
nothing major, just bushings, gaiters, etc. I recevied the order and got into
the project and saw that I needed the rubber boots(?) or nipples or whatever
they're called that hold the grease for the ball joints on the steering
knuckle. I mean they are not just torn or deteriorated - they are non-existent
with the little metal holding clip just dangling.
How did I miss that? Ignorance compounded by inattention - you know, the
usual.
Anyway, I would rather not have to order just those two items and pay more
shipping than the cost of the things themselves. And it wouldn't be that long,
of course, but I'd rather not wait for a shipment from wherever.
Do I have an alternative? At the rsik of sounding stupider than usual, is
there something "generic" that might go on.
I know I could look ahead to my next order and predict what I need but that's
how this arose.
Anyway, I really want to finish this part and move on so, if I have to, I'll
just put a larger order together and hope for the best. But it would be so
much nicer if I could just drive on down to Discount Auto Parts or Pep Boys or
whatever and pick up something to do this.
Any ideas?
