I won't bore you with the times from the Improved Touring ARRC at Road
Atlanta this weekend, just want to hit on some highlights of a great
weekend at the track.

Scott Holton with his TR7 wasn't there. That left the only LBC racing a
'72 MG Midget driven by a high school senior, Brian Stubblefield. took
first in class ( ITD) in the 18 lap race and first in class, 16th
overall in the 3 hour enduro Saturday afternoon. We cheered him on,
complete with waving British flag. He ran a great very clean and
consistent race. Oh yeah, he was the only one in the class in the
enduro. His ITD competition, a Ford Festiva, had a slight off course
excursion and the rest of his weekend was spent on the trailer. There
was also a ITD '71 Midget in the pits...but I never saw it running.

But the subject line mentions a historic TR6...I met for the first time a
gentleman well known in this part of the country, probably all over the
United States...named Fletcher Williams. You never heard of him? He
campaigned Triumphs in the 70's and on and on.....Even so far as to take
his TR6 to national SCCA champ status in 1991. But that is all history
ins't it?

He has sold the car to some lucky new owner in Virginia and the transfer
was taking place today ...new owner on the list? I got a few shots of
the car, but have had some less than optimal results from the camera...if
they turn out, I'll pass them along. Some interesting points on the car
.....five lug bolts on the rear wheels. Can you say Corvette? Dry sump
crankcase, 1" maybe 2" of clearance between the front frame and the
trailer it was sitting on....massive fender flares.....fiberglass hood
and trunk lid....interesting paint job. I did find out that it was his
car, not a Group 44 car.

Good luck to the new owner and I feel safe in saying that we all
appreciate him keeping them on the road ( sorry for stealing your line
there Victoria British )

Other than only one LBC racing and NO LBCs spectating ( I didn't see any
there ) it was a very good weekend of very clean, exciting racing, very
sunny weather, and very good friends visiting. Atlanta Region SCCA and
Grassroots Motor Sports put on a great show.

Maybe see some listers next year?

Take care.
