No, It was a GT6 manifold. The TR6 manifold would sit too high, and at
the time I didn't realize you could flip the thing upside down as
someone just mentioned.

Fat chance, we are talking about a Triumph now. :-) My friend's '70 GT6
even with a cam, header, lightened flywheel and hollow push rods is
just barely more competitive with most cars found at the supermarket.
Only trouble is, it sounds and feels real hairy while modern cars are
civilized doing the same thing. Kinda looks silly getting all worked up
on the road and not showing *real* performance. You do need that extra
500cc to "do it" in a dignified manner.
