Hugh, this is curious - the TR4, not the 4A, top (hood) is the one that comes
off. The TR 4A top (hood) is permanently mounted to the hoodsticks and folds
down behind the seat. If you had a TR4A with a completely removeable top
(hood) what was the commission number, please?

I think that the windscreen surrounds for the TR4,TR4A, and TR250 are
identical in size and shape. The difference is in how the top (hood) is
fastened. On the TR4 it clips into a groove in the front edge of the surround
and is held in place by tension when the hoodsticks are snapped into the
raised position. On the TR4A and TR250 there are toggles on the top (hood)
which fasten to clips on the top of the windscreen surround. Those latter
clips were added to the windscreen surround for the TR4A and TR250 tops
(hoods). Cheers.
