TR6:Inner drive axle

Listers,

I am replacing the axle shaft bearings in my 
differential and cannot separate the inner axle 
shaft from the drive flange. I have used heat to 
no avail, and pounded and pounded. i do not want to 
damage anything, but does anyone have any 
experience with this?
