The shafts of the four bolts that hold the lower end of the TR3A front
shock absorber have formed a serious bond with the brackets on each
side. Nuts are all off and have soaked with penatrant now for a week.
First attempt at heat had no effect. I am not excited about heating
suspension parts. Have considered trying to remove the bolt that goes
through the lower eye of the shock so that the battle is only with a
pair of bolts at a time, but have not tried it yet.
Anyone have suggestions or experience on a specific tool or technique
that would solve this problem? Last resort on my list is cut the
brackets off and replace them. The shock is scheduled to become history
no matter what.
