I'm curious if you found a problem with your old trunnions.
Not to belabor the point, but another simple check of the steering linkage is
to block the front wheels so they don't turn. Grab hold of the steering wheel
and attempt to turn it.....first right then left.
Observe the linkage. Is it flexing? Is there movement where there shouldn't
be? There should be a tight connection at all the flex members.(rod ends,
silentbloks,steering bracket and lever arm and box itself)
Check all the components for wear......you may be surprised with what you
find.
