I have just finished rebuilding my ZS carbs and I am having trouble getting my
73 TR6 started again.
During the rebuild,I replaced the original jets with Grose Jets and made sure
the float height was adjusted to the recommended 11/16" from the float bowl
rim to the top of the floats with the carbs upside down.
My trouble is that my plugs are continuously geting wet with gas, even with
the carb needles set at their leanest setting (all the way down into the
orifice).
I have read that since the carbs rely on vacuum to suck gas out of the bowl
and though the orifices into the engine, I may have worn orifices and may have
to lower the float height in the bowl in order to make it harder for the
vacuum to suck gas out thus creating a leaner mixture and maybe solving my
problem.
Does anyone know if this will work? Has anyone had a similar problem with rich
"non-adjustable" fuel mixture with ZS carbs?
Thanks in advance,
Wayne from Massachusetts
