I have a line on a '65 TR4 that's in reasonable condition, but...
The CO (current owner) supposedly did a frame off a bunch of years ago.
Unfortunately, the tops of all four wings are bondo (no seam, no trim -
just bondo and paint). The asking price is high for the condition of the
car, but he seems motivated and I think I can get the car for a LOT
less.
Since the car needs paint anyway, I'm considering bondo removal and a
proper repair. I suppose it's possible that the wings are salvageable,
but would not be surprised to find them totally eaten away. Is it
reasonable to expect to be able to find good replacements? What could I
expect to pay for them?
Or, should I just run as fast as I can in the opposite direction? As
always, I'd appreciate your collective wisdom. Thanks!
