Fred,
I would concur that the Commission number is in the range Andy surmises,
since the engine numbers will be close to the Commission number
sequence, but usually a bit higher. However, according to the BMIHT,
the 1972 models began at commission number 25001. So it would
undoubtedly be a 1972 model. Although the first car actually
manufactured in 1972 was 30978. So it likely was manufactured around
the last of 1971 or early 1972.
