Since 1974 I always tuned my engine by using the 'basic setting' with no real
difficulty but lately I am suspicous about my less than perfect ditributor
shaft (a little play there). In the newer books is there a dwell spec? for
that matter does anyone have the numbers to use with a timing light too? My
old book (TR4-4A Autobook) recommends static setting (as distrib has weights)
and of course the crank pulley has just a TDC hole and no numbers but I am
curious to check both these areas. Any info appreciated.
