Ok, now I'm really pissed off.
After spending hours readying my 76 Spit for its fifth emission test, I
failed.
A friend who owns a local Jag repair shop spent a great deal of time on
this car and three times tested it on the emissions gear at his shop
(generously donating his time charging me only twenty bucks and a six
pack of Weinharts Root Beer! oh, and they are certified emissions
specialists. btw) where it passed with flying colors.
HOWEVER, state testing facilities continue to fail my car....marginally,
but failing none the less. This is my daily driver so I'm pretty much
fucked. I've had it. Does anyone know if I can register my car to a PO
Box in a non-emissions area here in Washington state? Do they require a
residence address? I'm really in a bind here...with two jobs both quite
a distance away, I can't go public transportation without showing up
three hours late for my day job.
The car has headers, so my egr and cat. converter are missing, PO didn't
save the parts. Therefore, I can't get the waiver. Does anyone have any
suggestions?
