OK, here's a good one:
Are TR4 rocker panels air-tight? Do they have a drain hole? I know
there's a bit of an "access port" above the hoodstick mount point on the
door, which would let *something* get down below (ie, waxoyl, or water)..
so do I account for something to let it out?
I will be plumbing a drain for the scuttle vent. Probably entail brazing
/ welding an elbow through the top of the rocker, leading out under the
car, cut so that it won't whistle at high speed... with rubber / plastic /
vinyl hose to complete the run.
As for brazing, another lister mentioned that the flux mucked up the
undercoat underneath the car. Am I right in assuming brass flux is
acidic? So TSP should remove it (or baking soda, or oven cleaner...?)
Please advise the best method for removing flux chemically... wirebrushing
is the easy part, but I'm not keen on leaving a hotbed for rust
enhancement on the *inside* of my B-Posts, or the rockers.
thanks,
-Malcolm
