I went through that. It doesn't matter if they are pressed or threaded in -- they are frozen in and you have to drill them out. It's easy since the manifold is out of the car. I did it with the manifold installed. Nuts, bolts and lock washers will work fine. Just be sure you use a new gasket. It's made of soft metal, not gasket material.
