James, I haven't tried this yet, but it sounds like a good idea: When cutting those little cables, put a drop of super glue on the cable BEFORE you cut it and the ends won't fray. Be sure to use cutters intended for that purpose. The Shimano cutters are expensive but worth it. Bicycle cables would work great on choke cables that have a spring return but as you noted, they are flexible and intended to pull, not push. They would be perfect for bonnet releases if you want to go to the trouble. Dave |
