lever shock rebuild

The current issue from 6-Pack has a great article on changing the
compression and rebound damping for TR6 lever shocks. 
I know that there was a previous thread about rebuilding lever shocks but
the only answer I recall was "send it to Apple hydraulics".  I'm the kind of
guy who is too stupid to send it out and have someone do the job right the
first time so....
Does anyone have information about rebuilding TR6 lever shocks??
